HARVESTING PROCESS

The harvesting process may start from any level as required, since the birds are completely harvested from each cell on the one-at-a-time basis. The cell floor automatically shifts along the battery towards the drive station, and the birds enter the moving litter-removal belt. Using the belt, the birds are transported towards the battery drive station, from where they get to the transverse rod conveyor.

Then, the birds are moved outside the poultry house and enter either the roller conveyor, or the dedicated poultry harvesting table specially designed by TEXHA. Use of the table enables uninterrupted technological process operation.

The process of harvesting poultry from the cage battery is fully automated and may be controlled by a single operator without participation of any additional personnel. In order to finalize the harvesting process, the poultry farm workers will need only to package the birds into boxes for loading into a vehicle.

Poultry Harvesting System

POULTRY HARVESTING SYSTEM

One of the important and complicated technological processes in duck farming is the process of poultry harvesting for slaughter. The bird injury rate and the supplied product quality directly depend on how well this process is designed and implemented.

Cage equipment for duck farming offered by TEXHA company is available in two different configurations that utilize two distinct poultry harvesting methods described below.

ROBOT. ROBOTIZED HARVESTING SYSTEM

This harvesting system is based on TEXHA’s proprietary design. Before commercialization, the ROBOT system successfully passed a trial at the company’s own experimental site, and an international patent for its design was issued.

ROBOT harvesting technology uses a special floor opening system, where the cage floors automatically move one by one, and the birds enter the moving litter-removal belt. This belt is a conveyor for transporting the ducks toward the drive station. Then, the birds are moved outside of the poultry house and loaded into boxes for dispatch to the slaughter shop.

ROBOT technology facilitates smooth and consistent poultry harvesting flow with reduced injury rate and improved quality of the final product.

Advantages of robotized poultry harvesting technology:

  • Optimization of labor efforts
  • Removal of human factor influence
  • Expedited harvesting process and facilitated process management
  • Enablement of uninterrupted logistic processes
  • Reduced bird injury rate
  • Improved quality of poultry meat
  • Easy maintenance
  • Long service life of the equipment

POULTRY HARVESTING CONVEYOR

This conveyor is developed by TEXHA’s design engineering department and is intended to ensure a safe poultry harvesting process. Conveyor design takes into account various considerations, including own experiences, market requirements, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of the equipment.

The design is based on the roller conveyor system. A dedicated lifting mechanism moves the conveyor depending on the battery level, from which the ducks are to be harvested. This conveyor acts as a final link in the poultry harvesting process.

Advantages

  • Safe for birds
  • Energy efficient
  • Easy-to-maintain
  • Minimum service personnel requirement
  • Adjustable speed range
  • Smooth start
  • Active beak feature to reduce the gap between the conveyor and poultry harvesting table.

Conveyor Technical Specifications:

  • Conveyor width – 685 mm
  • Conveyor movement speed – 13,8 m/min (without variable speed drive)
  • Harvesting rate – up to 276 birds per minute

SIRIUS POULTRY HARVESTING TABLE

SIRIUS poultry harvesting table is a proprietary research and development product by TEXHA company intended to improve the performance of poultry harvesting from cage batteries for further dispatch to the slaughter shop.

The shape, dimensions, and operational mechanism of the SIRIUS table contribute to the poultry harvesting process improvement. The table is a round moveable structure (tabletop) on castor-wheeled legs. Thanks to its mobile design, the table may be easily moved and put away in a warehouse, as and when necessary.

The round structure consists of a so-called tabletop and perimeter-wise flanges. The tabletop is put in motion by the drive gear that actuates its rotation. During the harvesting process, the birds enter the table from the conveyor belt and go around in circles until collected by the farm workers. Several individuals may simultaneously perform poultry harvesting. The exact number of workers depends on the capacity and rate of the harvesting process.

SIRIUS table surface rotates with the set speed in order to prevent bird injury during collection and ensure a comfortable collection rate for personnel involved.

Feeding System

The cage equipment for duck farming supplied by TEXHA company utilizes the intra-cage feeding system.

The system incorporates:

  • External feed storage bin;
  • Transverse feed supply system;
  • Longitudinal intra-cage feeding system.

The transverse feeding system comprises the following:

  • Separator;
  • Inclined and horizontal spring conveyors;
  • Downtakes for the supply of feed on longitudinal feeding lines.

Feed distribution lines have adjustable heights.

An automated feedbox filling system allows programming of the feeding parameters and precise adjustment of feed distribution depending on the utilized poultry cross bread. The replenishment sensor measuring the feed fill-up of the entire line is installed in the last cell feedbox.

KoChiBo FEEDER FOR DUCKS

In cooperation with our Japanese partners, TEXHA has designed multi-purpose feeder intended for use as part of the duck’s feeding system regardless of the utilized rearing technology.

Unique design:

  • Low feeder edge allows the ducks to access the feed from the very first day of life
  • 5-level adjustment of feed supply, feed volume, and quantity.
  • Folded flanges and beams of the feeder limit the ducks’ ability to enter inside the feedbox, thus preventing scattering and loss of the feed
  • The wide diameter of the distribution mechanism ensures unhindered spilling and homogenous distribution of feeds

The key outstanding feature of KoChiBo feature is the preservation of feed and reduction of irrecoverable feed loss!
